Why Adopt?
Adding a new member to the family is always exciting, but adoption can also be an incredibly rewarding experience. When you adopt a pet you are not only giving them a second chance at life, you are showing them how it feels to love and be loved in return.
Finding Your Soulmate.
You wouldn't pick just anyone up off the street to come live with you for the rest of their life, so why do that with a pet? It is extremely important to think about your lifestyle and needs before beginning your search. Rescue pets come in every shape, size, energy level, fur type, and personality! Just because "EEK, it's SO FLUFFY" doesn't mean it will be your perfect fit.
Things to ask yourself before your search:
What amount of time, and/or money, am I willing to put into grooming?
Am I an active person who will put the time into a high energy dog? (Note: A dog who does not expel his/her pent-up energy can become destructive and even aggressive)
Do I have the time and patience to train a young dog/puppy?
Do I prefer a more independent personality or needy companion?
What different people, animals, and atmospheres would my pet be exposed to?
